Dossier: Alighiero e Boetti

An oldie and a goodie. It's interesting to consider this work in light of the previous post.

Feminism & Selected Writings

Lina Viste Grønli is one of my favorite young artists. I met her a few years ago in Oslo. Glad to see she's still ruling.

CHINETALY at Nitemarket

Our friends at Object Design League are combining the worlds of design and food this weekend at Nitemarket with CHINETALY, a food cart serving up a delicious combo of Chinese and Italian food. Pictured above is their cart in-progress. Knowing their work, it will be rad. More info about Nitemarket below:

General Assembly Design and Dirt Gallery have put together Nite Market, an open outdoor venue for experiments in mobile food. It's difficult to jump start a food business in Chicago (or even one run for fun) because the hurdles to certification are so stringent (thanks, Daley). Nite Market sets up a structure to allow uncertified and unlicensed food makers and designers to make and sell and test out ideas in food preparation, packing, and serving.

In order to attend, you've got to sign up. That's how they're getting around the license issue. JOIN HERE and I'll see you there!

NBA Tattoos

Ethan Swan just started a new blog called NBA Tattoos. It's pretty much what you think it is.

He explains:

In 2003 there was a statistic that 70% of the NBA players had tattoos, which seems insane to me. I noticed there wasn't a ready answer for today's NBA, and thought it would be easy enough to figure out who has tattoos now. It sort of was. But then I got into the minutiae of everyone's designs and there are some really crazy stories out there. Anyway, I've gone through and examined all 433 players in the NBA as of the end of the 2010-11 season, and determined an overall figure. I've also listed statistics for each team, and included stories and images, player-by-player. Now that the main bulk of that research is done, I can start getting into the weirdness, which should happen on a pretty regular basis.
