Implications and Disctinctions

Implications and Distinctions: Format, Content and Context in Contemporary Race Film considers performances of blackness in contemporary cinema from 1990 to the present. By examining story lines, movie theaters and my own viewing patterns, I tried to find the "color line" and trace its path through the distribution and exhibition of film. I've been working on the book for the past year and it has been a fun, challenging project. I'm very excited to announce that Implications and Distinctions is now available on Amazon.com

Implications and Distinctions is published by Future Plan and Program, a provisional publishing project featuring newly-commissioned literary works by visual artists. Future Plan and Program was initiated by Steffani Jemison and features works by Harold Mendez, Jina Valentine, Jibade-Khalil Huffman, Regina Agu, Nathaniel Donnett, Quincy Flowers, Egie Ighile, Robert Pruitt, Ayanna Jolivet McCloud, Michael Kahlil Taylor, Michael Graham and Khorey Smith.

Golden Age will be stocking a limited number of FP&P publications later this month, but feel free to buy now!
